This is our classic Pinot Noir from our 15-acre estate vineyard on Ghost Hill. We feel that this vintage truly shows a complete picture of the older vines on our property -- the overall wine is elegant with beautiful red fruit tones, a smooth and silky palate and a very pleasant finish. It well reflects our patient commitment to crafting balanced wines. PRODUCTION NOTES Production: 245 cases of 750 mL bottles Specs: 13.5 Alcohol, 3.68 pH, 10% New French Oak Harvested: September 2009 WINEMAKER NOTES The extra heat of the 2009 vintage helped the Pommard impart a rich earthiness brightened by pie-cherry tones to the wine while the deep red and black berry fruits from the 777 fills the mid-palate. The 114 adds heightened aromatic perfumes while supplying a structured back bone and ageability. The Wadenswil clone, added to our classic blend for the first time in 2009, brought a rich complexity and spicy quality to the blend that is very exciting. We feel that this vintage truly shows a complete picture of the older vines of the vineyard as a whole. |
